Stainless Steel 410/410HT Round Bar

Grade Introduction

Stainless Steel 410 is a martensitic stainless steel known for its high strength and moderate corrosion resistance. It is commonly used in applications requiring hardness and wear resistance.

Grade Application:

  • Automotive components
  • Cutlery
  • Pumps and valves
  • Shafting
  • Kitchen utensils

Thermal Properties:

Properties Value
Maximum Operating Temperature (°C/°F) 650°C (1202°F)
Thermal Conductivity (W/m-K) 25.0
Specific Heat (J/kg-K) 500

Forging Properties:

Forge Stainless Steel 410 at temperatures between 950-1200°C (1742-2192°F). A typical reduction ratio is around 4:1. Post-forging heat treatment is required to relieve stresses and enhance mechanical properties.

Stress Relieving:

For stress relieving, heat Stainless Steel 410 to 650-700°C (1202-1292°F) for 1-2 hours. After heating, slow cooling is necessary to reduce residual stresses and stabilize the material.
