Stainless Steel 347 is an austenitic stainless steel alloy stabilized with niobium (columbium), providing excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion and improved high-temperature strength. It is particularly effective in environments prone to sensitization.

Forge Stainless Steel 347 within a temperature range of 1050-1150°C (1922-2102°F). The reduction ratio is typically around 4:1. Heat treatment after forging is essential to relieve stresses and achieve the desired mechanical properties.
To stress relieve Stainless Steel 347, heat it to a temperature range of 675-725°C (1250-1350°F) for 1-2 hours. Following this, allow the material to cool slowly to stabilize its microstructure and prevent the formation of new stresses.
